Now you know I have to get involved somewhere. So now I'm volunteering as the publicity chair for the Plano Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. They have not had a publicity chair for two years. I'm already enjoying getting to know people and here's a little of the publicity I've put together that was posted on Instagram. I've developed a chapter publicity plan, social media campaigns, and there is more to come. And of course, I'm learning so much more about sewing an

The Greatest Man in My Life
The greatest man in my life is my Grandfather, Donald Smith. He lived for 79 long years. He was vibrant and full of life. To know him was to love him. We laid him to rest on Wednesday. These were my words at the funeral: "There are so many wonderful things to say about my Grandfather and I wish I had time to share them all. For today, I will share the attributes that made him special to me. In my eyes, my Grandfather was the model citizen. He taught me the importanc

Micheal's Pub
My Great Uncle Micheal opened up a bar last year in OKC. I helped him set up the social media, website, and designed his logo and his ads. I've really enjoyed this and I have really learned a lot from it. I really wish him success! His customers are an interesting crowd. I've enjoyed it every time I hang out for a little bit. He even has some nice Native art from his patrons. Some samples of my work: SLXLM He insisted on the spiders, these spiders, not just any spiders

Today we will be celebrating the life of my Grandmother, Mrs. Corrilla Smith. I can't express how important she was to me and my family. We love her and we will miss her. These are the tributes that we worked together to create for her. My mother wrote the poem, Auntie Iris and my cousin, Charisse, wrote the obituary, I did all the layout and design. I love Jamaican food!
In my public health nutrition class we have to choose a culture other than our own and research it to gain an understanding of their food habits. The objective is to understand the cultural implications of diet before making recommendations regarding someones food habits. We are all going to cook and bring our dishes on the last day of class and we have to make a handout for class. Here's mine. I chose Jamaica because I claim my ancestry from somewhere in the Caribbean.
