Sewing Pottery - Yes, people do that.

When Kim invited me to the 2014 Oklahoma Winter Quilt Show, I discovered a lot more about sewing.

One of the crafts was Sewing Pottery at Vogies Quilts and Treasures. I usually buy fantastic African fabric from them, but this time I wanted to try something new. All around their booth, they had these beautiful containers made by a sewing machine. It just so happened she was doing a demo, which convinced me that I could actually make one myself.

I got the kit and took it home with me. Basically the bowl is made out of fabric twisted around cotton cord with a little fabric glue. I really like these bowls. So far I've made only one, but I'll make another one day. Right now, it's is where I keep my car keys. Here's the pics:
