Today we will be celebrating the life of my Grandmother, Mrs. Corrilla Smith.
I can't express how important she was to me and my family.
We love her and we will miss her.

These are the tributes that we worked together to create for her.
My mother wrote the poem, Auntie Iris and my cousin, Charisse, wrote the obituary, I did all the layout and design.  And my cousin, Dion, and I created the slideshow.

As part of my job, I'm helping to plan the National Nutrient Databank Conference.

What is that?
A meeting for the people who create and use nutritional data.

What is nutritional data? 
Those numbers that tell you how much fat, sugar, salt, vitamins, etc. are in the food you eat.

What are topics at the meeting?
Smartphone applications, salt content, menu labeling, dietary supplements and the databas...

In my public health nutrition class we have to choose a culture other than our own and research it to gain an understanding of their food habits.  The objective is to understand the cultural implications of diet before making recommendations regarding someones food habits.   We are all going to cook and bring our dishes on the last day of class and we have to make a handout for class.  Here's mine....
